I'm a Polish photographer continuing work on a project called 'Polish Portraits' which aims at documenting lives of Polish people who do something out of the ordinary, who have unusual jobs or they simply lead interesting lives. I know that there's a number of Polish bike messengers working in London area and I was wondering if anybody knows of any in particular. I'd be really grateful for any info.

The first four chapters of the project came out online in Winter 08 and was published in 2 magazines this Summer and the characters included e.g. an amateur boxer and a tatoo artist. The project can bee seen at http://www.polish-portraits.blogspot.com/

We are an group of young designers (and keen cyclists!) who are working on a design competition project relating to short term/ "stop-off" parking. We are looking to find better solutions for parking furniture that can be integrated easily into the urban landscape. As London bike messengers you are one of our main user groups in that you make regular, short stop-offs and we would love to have some feedback on what you problems you encounter and how they can be addressed. We would like to do a short interview, no more than 5 min, which would include answering couple of questions. This would be video taped for research documentation and would not be made public (if you were concerned).

If you would like to get involved then please get in touch. Alternatively any suggestions as to how we can get in contact with a group of messengers and the best time/place to interview them are most welcome.

According to the CCTV camera, it took the thief about
10 minutes to unlock it and take it away.

I used to think that the fact that it's a tandem bike will discourage
potential thieves, as it's easy recognizeable.

I am still hoping I will be able to find it.

I'm the student of UAL. We're doing a research of how to store bikes at home. Definitely you're the experts in bikes, so i wonder if you could answer this simple question as " where do you park your bikes at home?"

Wondering whats going on with this because I'm kind of responsible for the idea in the first place (Basel). I'm probably back in the Northern hemisphere April, so should be able to help a bit.
Has the LBMA got anything to do with it? I'd suggest that because of a likely high alleycat content for the event it shouldn't be but that a Rollapaluza and or sossidges on the same weekend could work well.
Chris + Co. parties also good idea and the longest kid seem to be behind it, mostly a case of co-ordinating everything. And sorting out housing.
As far as racing to Hollyhead, it needs to be a format that allows a bunch just to ride it too. I can probably find quite a bit of floorspace in Bristol and could throw an Alleycat there (if anyones got any energy left). Its 120 miles from London so would be a big push for one day though. Catch a train to Reading or Swindon and start from there maybe? Riding out of London with a big gaggle of muppets would be fun though.. Are there still couriers in Cardiff?? Can they put a race on? We'll need a support vehicle or two.
