Cycle Courier Race in Smithfield

It is rumoured that there will be a ‘proper’ race for bicycle messengers as part of a London Nocturne (trans night race) is planned for some time later this year. My sources say that ‘the concept is sound’, and that a formal announcement can be expected later this month.
I guess that the event itself will be modelled on the very popular Newport Nocturnes, and will use the same circuit used for the 1991 courier race. If it is the same format, mass-start criterium, then expect big crashes and ringers.
Be assured that MT will be kept right up to speed on this one, and as soon as I know, you will know.
