we will be riding from london on the evening of 11/7, hopefully supported (i really will bust a nut to make that happen). we ride out at about 10-11pm, going on previous rides we keep an embarassing average speed for once so called "professional" cyclists so we should get to croydon at some point on monday. but it will be FUN. and it would be bloody good to put a name/face to your many user names.

it's been four years (I was very seriously distracted ok?). And I've suddenly realised that I really. really. really. miss my bicycle. Also I've just dug out the rollers and had a go and yes, it seems I'm unable to ride the damned thing anymore. Bugger. This clearly will not do. Never mind exenger, right now I feel like I'm an imaginedthewholethingenger. Time has come to seize the day. I've got my old sidis back on my feet and boy do they feel strange. A slow high ride to the beach in summer will do nicely thankyou, and there's no-one I'd rather share my 'oh god where've my legs gone' feeling imminently followed by collapse into the nearest hedge with than you, mister sleeps. Lets do a proper stoopid night ride, for old times sake...Can't wait! X

we've got ephraim as well, he has very kindly/foolishly said we can use his place in dulwich as a starting/meeting point.

i've got a few people who may be able to do the broomwagon thing but any definite volunteers would be hugely welcome.

Any idea which route we is gonna take? A or B roads will determine the size of front lamps...or am I just being too practical not very rock n roll?

And are we allowed to nominate people we want to come too?
In that case: you should put Mr and Mrs House of Pistard, and Mr and Mrs Team Awesome on the list *mwuwaahhhaaahahaha!*

okies, a very late update. if you all make it to brighton i'll explain the debauched mayhem that has been my life for the last month....

    it *is* going ahead.

we are meeting at ephraim's house on saturday night with mind to leave at 11pm-ish, try and be there by 9.30 at the latest.

we don't have a support wagon, a little bit of a pain i know but fuck it, we can do this shit. people may well find it encouraging that the sid has fallen through.

we'll be taking b-roads so make sure you are well lit.

make sure your bike is in full working order and that you have a couple of spare tubes and tools, a working, charged, with credit phone is also a must- i'll be compiling a list of phone numbers so if you get lost you'll be able to make contact with someone in the group.

if you bring your own map i'll give you a big pat on the back.

    i'll be texting people later...

I know I have been conspicuously quiet, but I have been quietly nursing an injured knee and found out today that I have in fact torn my meniscus and will need surgery. Don't want to sound like a big wuss, but I don't think big hills + fixie + bollixed knee go well together? So I am (un)graciously bowing out of this one...

    boo :(

Maybe just maybe I might be able to provide the supporting vehicle, but don't hold me to that just yet!

Oh actually, I have no-one's phone numbers anymore, so send yours to 07846094717

hey mimi, don't worry about quietness- i've just come back from a month off piste/on the pissed. it looks like we may have a vehicle, not sure of the size of it- may be able to fit you in if you feel you can't ride?

Text incoming, will let you know about vehicle tomorrow, drop me a line if you have a vehicle as it sounds like we'er borrowing one from s'hampton.

As part of my ongoing project "try not to get melanoma despite getting sunburned to buggery every summer as a kid" I had some moles removed yesterday, rendering cycling a bit ouchy, so I'm out I'm afraid. Orra besht to those still on for it.

it's on people, our salty seadog in residence has been looking at pressure charts and to quote him directly "aarrrrrrrrrrr tis a good night fer ridin to be sure".

if you've given me your number you will get a text this afternoon with the meeting point.

just to make something clear the above means that no one who is not on my mailing list (ie. no one who is not awesome) will know where we are meeting. there will only be awesome people coming. that is a fact.

we do not have support car, make sure you have necessaries: drugs, drink (water/energy drink as well as whisky and rum), spare tube, puncture kit and please please please bring some proper lights.
