Saturday 30th June,3pm at Clerkenwell Green. Main prize are return tickets to Dublin for fastest male/female.

BRIXTON CYCLES promised some cycling goodies as well, so tickets arent the only prize. Entry is a fiver.

Messengers and ex messengers only pls, so if i dont know you, take your courier id or bribe me...

    SEE YOU THERE!!!

    :fierce:

    What, no fakengers?

This is anti-fakengerism! I will lobby the London Bicycle Fakenger Association for a boycott of this event

Tickets to be won are for CYCLE MESSENGERS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS,hence messengers only.
    Sorry wannbes-I'm sure you understand.
  2.
Outrageous! This is discrimination on an unprecedented scale!

I will never buy another copy of 'messenger weekly' ever again.
  3.
non-messengers should be allowed to enter, but just not be eligible for the dublin prize/peace out
  4.
I agree with breakingaway. Let them enter, perhaps even at an increased cost, but not let them win the dublin tickets. It may not sound fair but if they dont like it they dont have to enter.

Can I enter on my motorbike please? I don't think I'm fit enough to ride a pushbike very far anymore.
  5.
Aha! Clearly you should be pedalling your bike, not pushing it. Then you will once again be able to suck Zak's wheel in the big 'A'.

Bribing is fine? Watch for my secret handshake with £50 bills discreetly given...

Anyway there is no risk a fakenger would win an Alleycat. has it ever happened?

it's never happened. They are not allowed to enter.

No fakenger would risk a real race, too dangerous. They'd rather be out inspecting the seams on pairs £200 jeans and buying expensive drugs.

fake messengers do race, they just suck because they don't always know where they are headed... kinda like some messengers sometimes...

not sure about the expensive drugs there mister blackrob, money is money after all, i got to buy me one of those rapha jackets next and they are £££..

maybe if i get myself entering in that nocture thingme with the lbfa team i could get some sweet endorsement deal

surely jos is going to win anyway...?

nah, anyone over 7 foot tall is disqualified.
  6.
are alleycats run by commitee all of a sudden? each organiser gets to set the rules of his/her race.
anyway elitism has it's benefits, the Greeks used to have this little thing called the Olympics to prove which GREEK state had the hardest warrior, then they let outsiders get involved and look what happened... SYNCHRONISED FECKIN SWIMMING
    BEGORRA!

First of all-due to jumble sale in Ripley decided to move the start to 5 pm(FIVE PM!!!).Same date same place.Happy shopping everyone.
Now,just to answer some questions i have been asked-tickets are return train tickets from Euston to Dublin(train from London to Holyhead, then ferry).Booked them on friday the 3rd of august-going there, monday 6th of august-going back.bikes are pre booked so no need to pack em up.Tickets are refundable in case the lucky winners prefer cash. Also you can change the date on it(subject to seats availibility).
Trying to sort out more prizes, definitely there will be second place prize, maybe third and dfl-but at the moment can't promise that.
And now for something completely different.Just ot make it clear-i have nothing against non messengers in the scene-the more of us the better.Gonna repeat myself now but seems like some people just didn't get it:
Main prize are tickets to Cycle MESSENGERS World Championships and that is why messengers only.Let non mess race but dont give them main prize even if they win????Thats just nasty.Dont like the idea of charging some people more to enter either.
Any nonmessengers who feel alienated, left out or discriminated-get involved doing a checkpoint, taking pictures etc etc.Anyones help with marshalling a checkpoint will be greatly appreciated.
By the way-Jos has registered for the ECMC in Oslo, which is happening on the same weekend. That should put some hope in you people.
    June 30th at 5PM!!!!!

Big THANX to everyone who showed up on that afternoon of fine Irish weather.15 riders raced.Due to shortage of marshalls i had to cut down on checkpoints-instead of planned 10 checkpoints, there were only 5:
Mallow street ec1,Filthy McNastys on Amwell street,Coach and Horses on Wellington street wc2,St. Patricks Catholic Church on Cornwall road se1 and The Pineapple on Hercules road se1.Short and sharp course-the three fastest guys have done it in just over 20 minutes.
Thanx again to all marshalls: Lotta, Xanthe, Jon, kristoffo,Monika, Nick, Xander, Ali, Tim Big Bopper, Emil.
Thanx to the sponsors: BRIXTON CYCLES who gave us prizes for two second places and the third place, and Xander and his HOUSE OF PISTARD who sponsored the Brixton Pista hoodies, and thanx to myself for the tickets to CMWC.

Little announcement from Wayne. The bottle of Jameson he has won is being saved for the train trip to Dublin.
So if you fancy sharing the drink(and the journey)with Wayne-talk to him.I think he is taking the train on august the 2nd,but better double check
